Board
The appointed Board provides governance and oversight for the MSS (Marshall-Smith Syndrome) Research Foundation. Current members are:
Dr Froukelien M. van der Mooren, GP (1978) - Chairman
Froukelien works at the moment as a locum general practitioner (GP)/ Family Physician (FP) in the Hague, The Netherlands. In 2007 she finished her vocational training in general practice/ family medicine at the Leids University Medical Centre (LUMC) in Leiden. She studied medicine at the University of Maastricht containing for instance a clinical elective at McGill University, Montreal, Canada and a extra curricular medical elective in a rural hospital in northern Pakistan. Prior to her specialist training she worked for two year as a junior doctor in paediatrics and surgery in ’t Lange Land Hospital in Zoetermeer.She has been active in the medical field in different professional organisations such as secretary to the National Organisation of Aspiring General Practitioners (LOVAH) and advisory member of the National General Practitioners Registration Committee (HVRC). Besides that she has been a facilitair manager of the bi-annual congress for the National Impact Network (Alumni Student Unions Network). Her hobbies are reading, sailing, travelling and Music.
drs. Henk-Willem Laan (1975) - Secretary / Treasurer
Henk-Willem Laan is manager Finance en Housing and teacher economics at the Goudse Scholengemeenschap Leo Vroman.
He studied Fiscal Economics at Maastricht University from 1994 until 1998. After his study he worked for eight years as tax consultant in The Netherlands.
He is also member of the Board of Adopt a Goat a Dutch Developmental Organization (www.adopteereengeit.nl).
His son Joas (2006) is diagnosed with Marshall-Smith Syndrome.
Hendrik de Wit
Hendrik is online Marketing and -Communications Manager at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. In the past he worked as Online Communications Manager at ABN AMRO, Project Manager at EDS and Project leader at Mphasis. Hendrik did his Pre-master Communications at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and his Bachelor Mathematics and Information Technology at Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden.
Sonja Bracke (1962)
Sonja works as a manager at Vitaal Group. This is a Dutch company of aid supplies for the elderly and disableds. Vitaal has lending and home care shops in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Her daughter Nina is diagnosed with Marshall Smith Syndrome.
drs. Wout T. Koelewijn (1976)
Wout works as senior consultant for Significant. His is specialised in Purchasing Management for Caregiving Organisations. Significant is an independent consultancy and research agency, active in: developing and evaluating policy and strategy related to social themes and translation of organisational policy and strategy into optimum operational management, centred on the themes of Strategy and Management, Organising Operational Management, and Purchasing and Supplier Management.
